Engine & Specifications of Nissan Qashqai
Qashqai, known as the Dualis in Japan and other markets, is renowned for its rugged build quality and exceptional performance. The car comes with two petrol and two diesel engine options with both all wheel and front wheel drive capabilities being offered. The entry level 1.6 litre engine produces 113.42 hp of power, while generating a torque of 156 Nm. The other petrol engine is 2.0 litre 16V design, producing 138 hp of power with an exceptional 196 Nm of torque.
The entry level diesel engine is a powerhouse capable of generating 104.55 hp of power with 240 Nm of torque with its 1.5 litre of displacement. The other diesel engine comes with highest priced variants and is capable of generating 147.95 hp of power with 320 Nm of torque. Nissan Qashqai will be available in five and six speed manual transmission option, while the automatic transmission is allowed only in six speed gear boxes.
Performance of Nissan Qashqai
The engines of Nissan SUVs have been acclaimed all over the world for their efficient yet power packed performance. The aerodynamic drag has also been reduced with newer designs having a Cd figure as low as 0.33, which is lower than previous versions. Nissan Qashqai has gone several levels of refinement in its long production run. The NVH characteristics have improved quite a bit in comparison with types that were launched in 2007.
The under-bonnet insulation developed previously for the diesel versions now also features in the 2.0 litre petrol engines. For greater insulation in diesel variants foam isolation blocks in wind screen pillars along with acoustic windscreen and similar arrangement in the floor and doors have been introduced. This makes Nissan Qashqai an extremely comfortable vehicle as one will not have to tolerate the annoying engine noise any more.
Interior, Exterior & Safety of Nissan Qashqai
Unlike any other SUV, Qashqai immediately impresses with its dimensions. It’s a 4315 x 1780 x 1615 mm vehicle which comes with a 2630 mm of wheelbase.
