Ford India has issued a statement where recalling approximately 48,000 units of the EcoSport diesel and 700 more cars to replace parts that can potentially raise safety concerns. One of the two issues is regarding the bundle clips on the fuel and brake lines. Ford wants to replace the bundle clips on the fuel and brake lines of about 48,000 EcoSports with diesel engines as the current clips are not upto Ford standards. These cars were built between April 2013 and June 2014 and if you own one of these, you can take it to the nearest Ford dealer to get the issue fixed free of cost.

Ford EcoSport Overview

Ford started a fresh innings in India with the EcoSport as this compact SUV helped the American car maker become a popular name in the Indian SUV segment. Other than EcoSport, Ford already has a strong presence in the premium SUV space with the Endeavour which shall also get an update soon but this time it is the EcoSport, which is again in focus as Ford revealed a makeover for its international iteration at the Geneva Motor Show leaving it highly anticipated for a quick India launch. The newly styled EcoSport has already been sighted doing test rounds in India. Similar to the EcoSport, it is believed that Ford will resort to a long hype prior to launching the vehicle in the country.

Exterior and Interior of Ford EcoSport Facelift

The main highlight of Ford EcoSport facelift will be the missing tail mounted spare wheel. Instead, it will feature a clean and modern look. The front face will not receive any important update except for a minor change in headlamps and lower skid plate. The side profile will get revised alloy wheel design with larger 17 inch alloys.

Inside, the updated EcoSport S there will be additional features with a improved infotainment screen. It is also reported that the company will further improve the NVH by revising the insulation material making it more noise proof than earlier. The seating arrangement and legroom / headroom will not change but the only thing that will effectively change is the rear boot space which is said to be compromised with the additional spare wheel.

Engine, Performance and Mileage of Ford EcoSport Facelift

The upcoming Ford EcoSport will be offered in 1L Ecoboost engine which makes 125 PS and 170Nm, 1.5L petrol engine which makes 112PS and 140Nm and 1.5L diesel engine which makes 91PS and 204Nm. The 1.5L Petrol will be offered in an automatic variant in addition to the manual variants.

Conclusion of Ford EcoSport Facelift

Ford might also update the engine line up for an improved performance.  The ride height will be reduced; suspension to be retuned and then it will also be offered with a Electronic Stability Control. The new additions will help EcoSport take on Hyundai ix25 and also the upcoming SX4 Across in India.
