Jaguar XF was introduced in 2008 and got a warm response from the well-settled buyers in Indian. The car was provided with a makeover in 2011 and significant changes were seen at its exteriors and interiors. The current generation Jaguar XF features luxurious interiors and innovative technologies to appeal its target audience. With the launch of Jaguar XF, the British auto maker has participated in fight of German trio - Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW.

Exterior

Jaguar XF happens to be a visual treat for everyone. Its front fascia has got major overhaul, which has now become more appealing. The headlamps are now slim and there are new & distinctive LED lighting strips, which sets the car apart from its erstwhile model. The front grille is also stretched as compared to the previous generation model, whereas the front bumper is reworked to match with the new styling. At the rear end, the design of taillight cluster is also updated using LED technology. The side profile of XF is complemented with 18-inch alloy wheels and curvy lines all over the surface.

Interior

The interiors of Jaguar XF are offered with redesigned seats, restyled steering wheel and all-new color scheme. It is said that the apart from new technology, the new XF has somewhat similar exteriors to its sibling XJ, although not in all manners. Along with a superb design, the car sports a number of class-leading features like Jaguar Drive Control, Jaguar Drive Selector, Jaguar Sequential Shift and Dynamic Stability Control with Trac DSC mode. In order to offer unmatched level of comfort, the auto maker has offered Soft Grain leather seats, Phosphor Blue halo illumination and interior mood lighting, seven-inch touch-screen display and Jaguar Smart Key System with Keyless Entry and Start in its new XF model. Engine and Transmission

Jaguar XF has been offered in 3 engine options, in a zeal to offer a variety to customers. The car recently came equipped with a 3.0-litre diesel engine, which has a displacement of 2993 cc. This powertrain can churn out a maximum power of 275 bhp with an alarming torque of 600 Nm. The another diesel engine option consists a 2.2-litre mill, which has a displacement of 2179 cc. This engine can pump out a maximum power of 188 bhp with peak torque of 450 Nm. The last is petrol version, which has a 2.0-litre engine with a displacement of 1999 cc. The highest power and torque figures of this engine stand at 237 bhp and 340 Nm, respectively.

Performance and Handling

The pick-up and acceleration of Jaguar XF is absolutely flawless and as soon as the pedal is pressed, one will feel like driving a jet. Its supercharged engine is just superb and throws an open challenge to all its same segment competitors. The 3.0-litre engine covers a distance of 100 kmph from initial within just 6.4 seconds, further clocking a top speed of 250 kmph (limited). On the other hand, the 2.2-litre diesel engine achieves the same feat in 8.5 seconds with a top speed of 225 kmph. On the other hand, the petrol variant of Jaguar XF covers 0-100 kmph in 7.9 seconds with a top speed of 250 (Limited).

The front brakes of Jaguar XF are ventilated while the rear ones are fitted with discs.
